SPONSORED CHARITY EVENT

JILLY'S JOLLY JAUNT

Gavin Roberson (owner of Crufts BIS winner 2013 – Jilly his Petit Bassett Griffon Vendeen and also adding to the title of the UK’s Top Dog All Breeds for 2012) and Amelia Siddle organised a fund raising event called “ Jilly’s Jolly Jaunt”.  It was a sponsored charity walk from the NEC at Birmingham to Great Ormond Street Hospital in London on the 10th – 14th June 2013.  It covered over 130 miles.

Jilly had won the hearts of many over the past couple of years and on the back of Winning Best In Show at Crufts they had done numerous television programmes and Radio alike with many celebrities.  They decided whilst ‘Jilly’ has won the hearts of many, that it would be a lovely idea to raise some money for charity on the back of winning Best in show at Crufts and her being in the public eye. Shortly after Crufts a conversation occurred between
Amelia Siddle and Claire Balding, (TV Presenter of Horse Racing, Sports and Crufts) that she would like to do a sponsored walk from Birmingham to London. Claire agreed this was a fantastic idea and helped to organise the event.

At least 15 of the past Crufts Best In Show winners agreed to take part throughout the week along with many of the UK's 2012 Top Dogs and Breeders.

The two charities that they were raising money for were Dog Lost, which is a charity set up to help owners be reunited with their lost dogs and Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital for sick or terminally ill children.

They had an enormous response to this event from the dog loving public to Celebrities.

We donated KeepCool Dog Coats for this event, which you can see Jilly wearing one in the photo below.

On the walk there was a lot of positive feedback about the KeepCool Dog Coats and a lot of people keen to know about them and where they came from, people were very enthusiastic and interested in them.  Amelia and Gavin thanked us for our help and support with the walk.
